Made following my discovery of corten steel. I felt somewhat betrayed that nobody had told me about it previously. Corten steel (weathering steel) has a naturally forming finish, undeniably ‘loud’, yet complementary amongst the hues of the natural world. The ‘rust’ is self protecting, meaning corten steel has an incredibly long lifespan. Please see the bronze maquette here.
